Chris Litton has been selected as
general manager of Technical Shared Services Substation Engineering following
the retirement of John Ivemeyer. In this role, Chris will be
responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the Substation
Engineering team.
Chris began his
career with Mississippi Power as a cooperative education student in 1992. Since
then, he has served in various roles, including distribution engineer,
distribution planning engineer, power quality engineer, distribution
supervisor, distribution operations manager and substation supervisor.
Most recently he served as
the Transmission Maintenance and Support manager at Mississippi Power. In this
role, he led the team responsible for construction, maintenance and testing of
substation facilities.
Chris serves as the
chair of the Power Delivery Substation Committee that leads substation
collaboration, consistency and efficiency across Southern Company in the areas
of maintenance, construction, design, conditioned based maintenance and major equipment.
Chris earned a
bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State
University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Mississippi, Alabama,
Georgia and Florida.
